The Poor Mountain Natural Preserve Overlook is about a mile down Canyon Trail going Counter-clockwise and is probably the best overlook in the preserve.

Poor Mountain Natural Area Preserve is a great way to enjoy nature but not exert yourself. This hike is a canyon loop going down to a stream at the bottom and coming up to the Poor Mountain Overlook looking to the North.
Piratebush Loop Trail
When you arrive at the Poor Mountain Natural Area Preserve Trailhead, you'll immediately get on Piratebush Loop Trail and follow that shortly until you hit Canyon Trail.
Canyon Trail
Canyon Trail is a four mile loop trail you'll hit after walking along Piratebush Loop Trail. The loop trail has two spur trails, one in the canyon and one overlook, that are worth the quick extra distance.
Overlook Spur
The Overlook Spur off of the Canyon Loop Trail is where you'll find the best picture to take overlooking the northwest
Cascade Spur
The Cascade Spur Trail off of the Canyon Loop Trail is a short peaceful walk off the main trail along a small creek with several small waterfalls along the stream.
